MAX6675 Reading 0.000 every time it touches metal.

Hello guys,
I am trying to get temperature by using an arduino uno and a MAX6675 with a k thermocouple.

I am running into trouble when my thermocouple touches any type of metal, the reading instantly goes to zero. And if i separate the thermocouple from the metal the reading comes back, anybody has a clue of what should I do? my main goal is to measure temperature of a hot metal plate connected to a press machine.

Provide documentation about the thermosensor element.

The thermocouple must be isolated from external conductors. See mantle thermocouple for available items.
