MAX7219 with a 3x4 led matrix

Hi all,

I would like to know if it's possible to use a 3x4 led matrix with a MAX7219 ?

If we can use a max7219 with a led matrix less than 8x8, what we do with the PINs not used?

You just don't use them.

When you set up the registers on the MAX7219, you can also tell it how many digits are being used, so that it does not even scan for the additional ones.
