What or where am I looking in a datasheet to determine the maximum and minimum values that a pot connected to a uC ADC can be.
Since the pot is connected to 5volt/GND, a constant current is flowing through the pot.
If pot value is too low, it will heat up the pot (they do have a max power rating).
100-500ohm could be a minimum value, depending on pot size.
10Megohm is about the practical upper limit. Above that you will have problems with hum/hash/leakage.
But there is also cross-talk to consider if you're using more than one pot.
Therefore we recommend 10k linear.
