Hello everyone! I've been running into some issues with the maxbotix EZ4 (MB 1242) and have been unsuccessful in every attempt to run this device. I was hoping someone on this forum could help shed some light on this issue.
I've soldered the board with L shaped header pins and have made connections to the pwr, gnd, scl (pin 5) & sda (pin 4) on the sonar board. These are connected to an Arduino nano pins: 5v, gnd, A4, & A5. I am running code provided by the maxbotix website (Arduino I2C for MaxSonar).
I am not getting any readings in the serial monitor and am starting to suspect the sonar was dead on arrival. There is no clicking sounds when the voltage is applied (from what I've read you're supposed to hear clicking sounds). My question is, how can I troubleshoot this sonar to determine if it is even powered on and working or if I'm wasting my time on a dead board.
Any insight, suggestions, help, anything at this point would be very much appreciated.
