I have a 3.7V Li-Po battery connected to a 5V regulator which powers an Atmega328p. Can I connect the MC34933's Vm directly to the battery and the Vcc to the regulator's 5V? The H-bridge will drive 2 pager motors, so it won't output a lot of current (100mA max). I know the datasheet recommends 5V for Vm and 3V for Vcc, but I need to keep my 5V rail clean to power the MCU. Also, the voltages I'm suggesting are within spec and I do not see any restriction between Vm and Vcc.
Would this setup work? Would it cause any problems?

Is it really a 5V regulator and if so how does it convert the voltage from a single LiPo to 5v or is it perhaps a buck converter ?
Sorry, you're right! It's a TPS61200 boost converter.
It should work but be sure to properly decouple the system and all the grounds need to be connected. Be sure you do not over voltage it during charging. This response is to help you get started in solving your problem, not solve it for you.
