MCUFriend Display and I2C

Hi all,

I'm using a MCUFriend 2.8 LCD Display on a Arduino Uno. For extern communication I'd like to use the I2C bus (as it's the only free connection opportunity). I'm trying to connect this to another Arduino Nano. If connected the display is getting white and not displaying anything anymore. Both Arduinos are still working and the I2C Bus is sending data. Even the touch functionality on the display is still working. Is the display also using the I2C bus and how can I prevent interference? Is there another way to communicate if all ports are consumed by the display (may be unused ports??)

Thx, Nick
