Hi all, excuse my poor knowledge its been many years since my college electronics days. A friend has asked me to construct an infrared motion activated camera (photo or video) to record deer in local woodland.
I had initially found this article: http://makezine.com/projects/crittergram-capture-cam/ but I was unable to get the camera featured and instead ended up with the OV7670 which does not appear to be compatible and from my research it seems people are having a lot of difficulty making it work. Other research suggested that it would need RAM and some kind of buffer to work which is above my current knowledge level. I have looked into Arducam but shipping from the states is expensive.
I also happened across this article: http://www.instructables.com/id/Hacking-A-Keychain-Digital-Camera-for-Arduino-Cont/
The article uses a camera which does not seem to be available in the UK. I do however have a MD80 mini camcorder. My question is would I be able to solder onto the MD80 switches to bypass them and enable them to be activated by an arduino output?
I have read the MD80 page on 808 Car Keys Micro Camera Review - MD-80 but the schematics are a bit complex for me at the moment.
I have the PIR sensor up and running with code that lights an LED when the sensor is activated, just need to trigger the camera to record short videos when this happens
Hours of google have not yielded any meaningful results and a search of this forum gave only a handful of results in Spanish.
Any help much appreciated
