Measure voltage of power header

I have an Arduino UNO. That includes a power header with pins: Vin, GND, GND, 5V, 3.3V, reset and ioref. According to the docs, if I connect one of the voltimeter's cable to 5V and the other to GND, I should be able to see 5V in my voltimeter's screen. But I see 0v. Same when I try the same with 3.3V and GND. Same when I try with Vin and GND. Is this normal? Do I need to activate those pins somehow through software? I am at a loss here.

Thanks!

My bad. My voltimeter was wrongly configured! Now I read the correct values

You are far from the first person to make this mistook and I expect thousands more over the years. I try to spend a few minutes every day trying something new with one of my test instruments. I would suggest you spend some more time with your tools so you know what they can do and how to do it. Yes even after years I still learn something new. Have fun and welcome to the club.
