Shoelace instructions seems really hard to put into words. Have you ever seen a book on knots that didn't use pictures?
My favourite for this is trying to write a recipe for coffee with sugar. It seems easy until you have to say details like "Hold the cup in your left hand" and your test subject is holding it upside down.
