I dont think the gent has a "death in the family". I am having exactly the same problems. At least one other here has said he has. Rather than just say his Mega died why not get him to install 0022 and test again. Thats what I did and the Mega can be uploaded to with no problems !.
I think its the software or installation thats wrong, not the Mega.
