Hi,
my Mega board worked when I first received it yesterday. I managed to upload a few programs to it, but with many problems. For example, COM10 already in use. COM10 not found. I downloaded the updated Arduino enhanced release SDK from here: http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,118440.0.html, which helped a little, but it still took 5 or 6 attempts to successfully upload a new program.
Eventually, I received an error "avrdude.exe: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00". From this point, no new software can be uploaded. I have tried a few of the standard examples.
Only the software that I last uploaded successfully works. That software reads a number of analogue ports and prints to the serial. The software works correctly and I can see the results via the serial monitor.
The original system with the problem was Windows7 with latest updates installed. It used The Intel NUS system. I have tried to upload new software using my laptop running XP. The same problem occurs.
I have bought another Arduino UNO and this works correctly in the XP machine, and the program that is still on the Mega works, and I can upload new software without issue.
The UNO has problems on the windows7 machine in that it takes ages to upload due to COM10 port already in use errors. However, the upload can eventually be made to work.
I have looked up the error on the fora but none of the suggestions have worked.
How can I get the upload software working again in the MEGA?
Thanks for listening
Paul
