Mega + XBee

Greetings,

Ok, I have a Mega and an XBee. I believe I know how to hard wire the RX, TX from Arduino to the XBeea as well as the power.
What would be the simplest way to read on an internal webpage (192.168.a.b) the status of the digital ports ?

I have seen a few libraries and API functions floating around, but nothing along what I would like to do.

many thanks for your help,
Marian

For a web site to be able to access the Arduino, you need an Ethernet shield.

If you want a local application to be able to access the Arduino, it has to be connected to a serial port (the same as it is when uploading sketches). The local application reads from/writes to the serial port on one end, and the Arduino reads from/writes to the serial port on the other end.

One XBee will do you no good. Having one is like having one shoe.

Thank you Paul. Much appreciated.

What would be the simplest way to post the pin's status on a webpage ?
I know that an Ethernet shield will do it, but I don't have a net cable where the Mega is. It has to be wireless.

cheers,
Marian

The Mega can send the data to the serial port. The XBee can broadcast it.

But, somewhere, you need a receiver (another XBee) connected to a computer running an application that can read the serial data and update the information at the location that the web client accesses when the page is requested.
