"2560 pro mini are common on eBay " with two row pins on each side, so you can't plug them into a solderless breadboard. Mine was designed to go into a solderless breadboard.
Here it is with an FTDI Basic with short extension cable to a vertical header. A right angle header could be used as well to have the FTDI Basic lay on the board. Other header types can be installed as well.
