Ich entwickele meine Sketches mit der Arduino IDE unter OpenSUSE. Da ich ein hoffnungsloser Fummler bin wollte ich mal was Neues ausprobieren und bin auf Eclipse (mir aus vielen Projekten von der Arbeit bekannt) und das Sloeber-Plugin für Ardiuno gestoßen. Frage bevor ich Anfange hier eine Installationssession zu starten : Benutzt das jemand und hat das entscheidende Vorteile gegenüber der normalen IDE ? Mir ohne Vorteile neue Probleme einzufangen da habe ich keine Lust drauf. Ulli ---

Wenn du Eclipse schon kennst solltest du wissen was daran besser ist als die normale Arduino IDE. Normal geht es dabei eben genau darum dass man eben eine vollständige IDE hat und nicht die recht eingeschränkte Arduino Software. ---

Also ich habe es mal angetestet und wieder weg gepackt. Das ist etwa 1 Jahr her. Ich habe lange JAVA mit Eclipse entwickelt, das kommt/kam aber nicht ran. Ich bin dann wieder zur IDE mit Notepad++ als Editor zurück. Auch mit dem VisualCode+ArduinoPlugin konnte ich mich nicht anfreunden. Gruß Tommy ---

Ich weiß selber nicht genau was ich erwarte. Einen besseren Editor kann ich ja auch in die Arduino IDE integrieren. Ich habe zum Beispiel in einem YT-Video gesehen das beim aufnehmen einer neuen LIB in ein Projekt (was ja bei der Ardu-IDE gar nicht nötig ist) sofort alle anderen für diese Lib benötigten Libs eingebunden werden. Unter LINUX und vielen moderneren Systemen ist vi == vim und der kann wenigstens Syntaxcolorierung. Ich habe 6 Jahre mit vi im Terminal und ein paar Shell/make-Scripten entwickelt. Gruß Tommy ---

An solch schöne Zeiten kann ich mich auch noch erinnern. Es gab aber noch Schlimmeres auf IBM und Siemens Mainframes 😉 Ulli ---

Auf PC und so einem sündhaft schweren IBM - Teil - ich weiß nicht mehr, wie es hieß. Diese Kenntnisse habe ich hinterher verschwiegen 😉 Gruß Tommy ---
