I'm a newbie to this stuff but I'm working on a couple projects and just need to see what hardware I am needing to do a couple projects. Firstly I want to make a keypad that will record it's own pressed keys with a time stamp. It would need to be portable so it'd have to have it's own power source. Those cheap 4X4 arduino compatible keypads will be fine to start with and the memory storage shouldn't need to be too much, I think I'll end up getting the 1 gig ones.
After that I've got a lot more stuff I'm gonna wanna to get the arduino to control.
And if anyone can put this initial stuff together for me and write the code and give me a working prototype to play around with for a while, I would gladly pay.
Where are you located? That could affect the availability of various hardware/costs of shipping/etc.

Where is this data being record to? SD Card? EEPROM to be retrieved later?

How long would it need to be operating without power? Aside from recording the time when a key is pressed, is there anything else it would need to do that might put a drain on its battery?

Are you looking for someone to essentially build/code/case the project and ship it to you, or hook everything up, write the code and send you the plans?
Ideally you tell me what I need to get this project done, I send you money, you build it and send it back to me.
I don't know how I want the info stored. I just need it be able to view it on my pc afterwards.
Maybe 2 or 3 days worth of power? is that feasable? Right now, it doesn't need to do anything but show me what buttons were pushed and when.
I do not need for it to be encased right now either. just the raw product. The keypad must be 4 X 4. So basically I want you to do all the work and bill me.
If this relationship works out, I have a bunch of work I need done for a few projects of mine.
