So I may be slightly panicking.
I'm using this SoftPot Membrane Potentiometer - 500mm - SEN-08681 - SparkFun Electronics for a project, and the back has adhesive. I removed the paper backing and placed the pot on the wooden plank I'm using to mount this project. When I went to test, it wasn't receiving any input. None of the wiring has changed and the connections are the same as they were before removing the paper backing.
Replacing the part takes time and I would rather not have to.
Get your meter out and measure the resistance as you press the device. IF the resistance doesn't change, then one of the wire connections if open.

Correct, the clincher at the end of the pot got moved and disconnected. That's on me for not paying attention.
