I have a hard time believing that you toasted the radio with ESD.
10 - 20 years ago - maybe , but not today.
Especially on "test bench".
I am not familiar with the "radio" you are using , but even poorly matched TX with antenna is still pretty rugged as far as letting the smoke out.
From recent experience - verify your "DuPont" jumpers - they are NOT the best quality.
I am working on SPI connected device and it is not much fun to "see" where the code is.
If you suspect SPI pins damage , try old fashioned "hardwired loopback"; to verify MOSI /MISO pair,
