I have the MESA Sparkfun Kit and I am to use Arduino IED for the activities the site has for the board. My board is not identified by Arduino Editor. I click on Arduino/Genuino Uno and have tried others and I get a line with a red X. Please assist.
Not all boards are available in the free version although there are some extra boards listed in the paid version.

Bob.
I paid for educational access to Arduino Editor. Sparkfun asks that we use Arduino IDE to do their programming activities. I have followed all the steps as well as paid for the Arduino educational Web Editor. Are the boards we use considered third party? Do I have to use and purchase Maker Plan?
Note to other moderators...
Issue passed to relevant parties and PM to OP.
Bob.
@cmoye Set the serial port then the board type to Arduino Uno. I think the SparkFun Redboard is an Uno clone (328p) but with a different USB serial chip.
I was able to get Create work with a clone Mega with CH340 USB serial chip by setting the serial port and board type.
According to the instructions on the Sparkfun website, the redboard is compatible with the desktop IDE.
The Maker plan allows a limited list of 3rd party boards to be used with the online IDE and the redboard from sparkfun is compatible with it yet.
Most CLONE boards based on CH340/341 and CP2102 have been supported for a long time out of the box in CREATE.
Bob.
Exactly. I did not want the OP (and lurkers) to think Create is limited to the list of supported boards. Clone boards SHOULD work though I can only be sure about the clone boards I tested.
