I remember reading about methane in different planetary body atmospheres in a book fair book I got in second grade, 1963.

This article has a wealth of information on the subject. Lecture 29 -- Planetary Atmospheres

Ever been driving in a car with someone and they say ' can you smell gas ' ????????
