hello!
i'm totally new to arduino- looking to start my first project soon and wanted to get some advice from folks in the know.
basically, i'm looking to build a circuit that can parse a flash card that is loaded with midi files (i'm thinking of using a dip switch to select a file). when you hit the "go" button the circuit reads the midi file and outputs midi data to a synth. there will be an indicator led that flashes when playback occurs.
that's it really. just a simple midi player so i can run my synth w/out a computer or a big old rack mount sequencer.
i know half of this is in the software- so i'll post on that forum as well... in the hardware department i'm wondering what your suggestions are for components and what arduino flavor suits this device best. i'd like this thing to be as small as possible.
thanks!
