MIDI file run on LED's

Hi,

I want to have a MIDI file converted to LED's. It sound's weird, i gonna explain what i mean:

There are 7 notes, and each note have it's own LED. But when you have to touch a note (what the MIDI says), how do you convert a note from a MIDI file to LED's?

This project MIDI Glockenspiel converts MIDI into solenoid impulses, just replace the solenoid triggers with an LED and resistor.
