Midi swinger / shuffler

Hi,

I have an Alesis MMT8, an old Midi sequencer which i like a lot but does not support midi swing.
I would like to bypass this problem, I thought of using an Arduino for:

  • either generating a swinging midi clock
  • or "live-quantizing" the midi generated by the mmt8 and applying the swing

I would say that the first option is the best case, because the second might be too complicate and it might introduce buffering time.

Has anyone already done this?
Do you have any advice about it?
I must say that I haven't put hands on a Arduino yet...

Someone did something similar to this , but it does not seem to emit MIDI out, only DIN signals: P-I-C-----P-r-o-j-e-c-t-s: Shuffler - MIDI to Sync24 converter with shuffle
