Well, I want to build a Midi to USB converter(something like this :http://www.amazon.com/EMU-XMIDI-1X1-MIDI-Interface/dp/B000JLU26W/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top) to connect my keaboard(Yamaha PSR-E203) to my computer(Synthesia). Is that even possible with Arduino ? I'm not interested in buying one, because in Greece, the available ones are rather expensive (60-70 $). Has anyone built one? If so, could you explain me how?
I wrote a wiki page, primarily for Miniak/Micron users since often they complain was "special" cables are required to work with these beasts ... you will see a picture of a cheap one (I bought 2 in UK for £5).
They work fine for all my normal midi needs.
Little bit flaky on large Sysex xfer, but Reaper sorts that out.
I am using one right now to debug an Arduino midi project I am working on ... try one.
Oh the page
I have heard of folks who bought cheap ones to convert into their own electronics with USB.
Other than that, I cant think of any reason to try to beat the Chinese at manufacturing.
It's only ripped off German/Japanese/American technology anyhow.
