Mini LCD for coffee pot

I am going to make a timer to trip a relay on my super cheap Mister Coffee pot that doesn't have auto shutoff. If I can, I'd like to find one if those tiny LCD displays like the ones on the digital oral thermometers. I can live with 2 characters for the minutes remaining, or go with a 4/5 character for a real clock look, but the only ones I've been able to find on google are the same size as a 16x2 LCD module. I need small. I just opened up the thermometer I have, but now am very confused because the display has absolutely no visible contacts on it. They are on the PCB THOUGH. I wish there was a part number on this so I could figure out how to use it with my project (especially since I kind of disabled it taking it apart. Don't tell my wife. She has a fancy one, so I figure it would be ok, but ya never know).

See if you can carefully put the thermometer back together. It uses "Zebra strips" to make the connections.

You need a display module - a display plus a driver PCB. Keep looking for small display modules on eBay/ Google but unless it is fully assembled with a driver with MCU interface, you are going to get nowhere with it.

Probably your best bet is a "0802" display or a Nokia 5110.

If you want a much smaller display, you will actually find that LEDs are more practical.

Thanks for the model number.
