mini usb without having to install driver on win

hi,

first of all, i must say i'm very impressed by arduino. i just discovered it, and it saved my day!

i'm considering arduino and i have a question.

in the past on guy developed a simple device for me (leds and buzzer) that was controlled by usb.

no driver was needed.

can we achieve the same with arduino? if yes could you give me dirsctions ? thanks a million!

No, the Arduino on board FTDI USB serial converter chip requires a PC USB driver to support that chip.

Maybe this will help you. V-USB: http://www.obdev.at/products/vusb/index.html

The ATMega chip can do what you are asking but out of the box, a standard arduino board cannot.
