What is not working?
A Google search showed that someone mentioned creating a symlink from/dev/ttyACM0 (the Uno) to /dev/ttyUSB0 might allow the IDE to recognize the USB serial port. I did not find any follow-up responses indicating that doing that made any difference.

I am running mint 15 along with xp on dual boot desktop 32 bit .This computer does not have access to the web. I used a distribution dvd to install after xp was installed. I am getting feedback comments that point to a symlink needed to operate Arduino. The Arduino Linux version of 32 bit was downloaded to a flsh drive with it's own directory folder. a tar.gz file I recall. after loading the Arduino sketch example from library the upload fails with the lower comment suggesting I create a SYNLINK. as the info like 'tty/ usb0' something.
Can you understand and offer comment/help?
