MKR-1010 and new WiFi Router (WiFi6)

HI,

I have some MKR 1010 devices connected to my wireless network for many months.
They send temperature and pressure data to the cloud. Everything worked perfectly until the WiFi router was replaced.

Since I installed a WiFi router with support for WiFi6 (802.11ax) , the MKR 1010 devices keep disconnecting and having problems reconnecting. The router obviously supports all previous protocols and works flawlessly with my PC, phone and tablet.

At the moment, I reactivated an old WiFi access point I had and connected the devices to it and everything works again without disconnections.

Does anyone know of any issues related to u-blox NINA-W102 module with WiFi6?

Don't know if it helps, but I installed a WiFi6 mesh (Asus XT8) and had all sorts of problems with my homebrew ESP8266 home automation sensors losing connections and timing out.

I ended up resurrecting an old Netgear access point just to provide a 2.4GHz network for these devices.

(The rest of the mesh is excellent, and performance fantastic, but this was just a niggle I had - at some point, I'll retest and retry it all - this was a simple and expedient fix)

It seems that the problem is very similar.

For the devices I have at home I solved in the same way, with an old D-LINK access point.

The problem arises for the devices installed at our customers. I certainly can't ask everyone not to switch to WiFi6 or resurrect old access points.

I will try to ask Arduino and U-Block technical support for clarifications, we are industrial customers, I hope to have an exhaustive answer.

I'll update the post with any replies from tech support

Ok, the problem is confirmed by Arduino support. With WiFi6 (802.11ax) routers the MKR-1010 card suffers from constant disconnections.

A possible workaround that they recommended to me is to separate the SSIDs for the two 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands, I haven't tried it yet.

At the moment, the firmware team is investigating the issue and they have asked me for the router models I've been experiencing the issue on.

If anyone has similar problems (only related to MKR-1010 and WiFi6) it would be very helpful to know the router model.

This might or might not be the slightest bit relevant:
My boss has a Tesla car. He had a lot of problems getting the charger to connect to WiFi. The router was supplied and configured by a friend of mine. The router supports WiFi6. Router manufacturer is Draytek. Seems too much of a coincidence to me.

I've also noticed my 3rd generation Kindle has difficulty connecting to the 2.4GHz network provided by the mesh router/AP, but has no problem with the older Netgear AP.
I'm not holding my breath for a fix from Asus.
