MKR WiFi 1010 loses USB port when MEMSHIELD is attached

Hello!

my current Project is building a telemetry system for my mountainbike. I am using an Arduino MKR WiFi 1010 in combination with the MEMSHIELD as my datalogger. Currently I have two buttons attached to digital pins (of the MEMSHIELD) to trigger certain activities in my sketch, nothing more (both buttons have pulldown resistors with 1kohm attached).

Everything worked out perfectly so far until .... I was testing a certain function of my sketch by pushing one of the buttons as I did a couple of times before but nothing happend except the Arduino suddenly lost its connection to the USB port. I tried several other USB ports on my laptop, reseted the Arduino a couple of times, rebooted the laptop .... nothing changed until I disconnected the MEMSHIELD from the MKR board. As soon as I pulled out the MEMSHIELD the USB port came back to live again. I tested it a couple of times: same result the USB port disapeares as the the MEMSHIELD pins got connection to the board.

Do you have any suggestions how to solve this issue, or to check whether the MEMSHIELD hardware failed?

Thanks for your support!
Jens
