Hi! Thanks in advance for your help, this is really bugging me...
I bought a MKR WIFI 1010 a month or so ago and up until yesterday have had no issues. Yesterday when I plugged the Arduino in as usual, it was not detected in the Arduino IDE, nor in the Windows Device Manager. The power LED is on, and the CHRG LED is blinking very rapidly - faster than the 1Hz speed which I believe indicates overvoltage. When I plug in my LiPo battery the CHRG LED stays on solidly. I've now tried three different microUSB data cables in different USB ports on my computer; the IDE detects my Arduino Mega 2560 perfectly, so I'm not sure what this could be. Additionally I've seen in various places that pressing the reset button twice can fix this issue, but nothing seems to happen.
Any ideas? I'm sure I'm missing something but can't work out what!
It took me a bit the first time before I figured out the correct timing. just keep trying until you get the slow flash.
After that the port will also be different for just that first upload.
I've been trying this for about 20 minutes now and had no luck! I also tried using some leads to reset manually (RESET -> GND) but no dice. Is there a chance the reset is broken and is there a way to test that? Or any other ideas as I'm stumped!
I've tried 1.8.6 and 2.0.3, interestingly 1.8.6 seems to think there was a board on COM5 but then gave me the error
Couldn't find a Board on the selected port. Check that you have the correct port selected. If it is correct, try pressing the board's reset button after initiating the upload.
tried the reset then and still nothing! Could this mean my board is fried?
Yes, I'd noticed the different LED states on the datasheet which is why I've been so confused...
Not as far as I'm aware - I had been testing it with an LIS3DH accelerometer and it had been working fine, and then the next time I plugged it in, nothing.
