MKR WIFI 1010 UART connection

Hello.
I was checking the MKR WIFI 1010 connection diagram and it seems that the UART terminal is connected to the WIFI NINA module and the external terminal.

I would like to use it as a UART terminal for the external terminal,
Is there any adverse effect on the WIFI NINA side?

Also, I assume that communication on the NINA side is normally done via SPI, but what is the intention of the UART connection?
