MKR1310 problem when connecting lithium-ion batteries

Hi everyone,

I have a problem when I try to connect a lithium-ion using the VIN port. It seems that when I use a voltage lower than 5v the board doesn't work. When I use the same scheme with the mkr1300 the board works without problem.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Thanks

Hi everyone
I have a similar problem with my 1800mAh 3.7V batteries. Both MKRWAN1310 (one sender and one receiver) don't work with them on Vin pin. The sender has a qwiic BME280 sensor and send Pressure, temperature and humidity. The receiver has a feather display 128x32 for displaying the data and the RSSI.
Furthermore if I use the USB ports of my notebook is all ok, but if I use the USB ones of my desktop both 1310 don't work.
Itcs seems to me that my 1310 need more than 3.7V to run.
Can you help me please?
Thanks

I would suggest you read the specification on the Vin port, it was not designed to work at 5V, the regulator needs some headroom at least a volt or two. I run them at 8V without any problem. So it is doing as expected, put the batteries in series then connect to Vin and it should work OK.
