I'm running into problems trying to upload code to my three Arduino/Geniuno boards (Micro, MKRZero, and MKR1000). I've cleared all the COM ports and setup my MKRZero on the COM3 serial port. When I try to upload a simple 'Blink' example sketch, the process is stuck uploading for a while before getting an error.
I've carried out the Loop-Back test and my board is not picked up (no chiming connection sound or appearance in the Device Manager) with the GND->RESET and TX->RX (Pins 13 and 14 on the MKR board). Once these wires are removed the computer senses the board.
What other steps can I try?
The computer I'm running this on is a Surface 4 tablet with Windows 10. I've tried uploading sketches from both the web editor and desktop IDE.
Attached is the command messages I get from the Web Editor (same for desktop IDE).
When you cleared the ports did you also take the option to also remove drivers ?
If so it will or should re-check and reinstall the drivers.
In some more extreme cases it may be quicker to re-install the IDE (not the windows store version)
For MKR series boards I will presume you did the "quickly double tap reset" on the MKR to put it in bootloader mode (a different COM port will show up)
People have reported some issues with the surface tablets (not all of them) so preferably try a real computer if you have one available.
For CREATE you needs to have said YES to the certificate and additional drivers.
The certificate is specific to each browser so if you installed CREATE using EDGE then it will only operate in EDGE unless you also install the cert for additional browsers.
Additionally there were some issues with earlier MKR1000's that the firmware upgrade seems to take care of especially when being used with CREATE.
When installing CREATE also best to do so as ADMINISTRATOR to ensure correct permissions are generated.
