Mock Pellet stove

Best suggestion is find someone with an actual wood pellet stove and study it's design and operation. It is NOTHING like what you are suggesting. First, a Diesel glow plug will NOT ignite wood pellets before the glow plug stops glowing. At the longest, they are designed to operate for about 30 seconds and then in an engine that is a heat sink for the plug.

My previous house had a pellet stove and I replaced it once with a newer one. The auger will run a short time to load the combustion chamber and cover the igniter. The igniter will heat for the entire time until either the pellets begin to burn or a 2-3 minute timer times out.

In addition, a pellet stove has 2 fans. The combustion chamber fan runs continuously at the same speed from start until the combustion chamber gets cold. The chamber also needs a free flowing source of air. A damper may limit the volume.

The thermocouple MUST be protected from the hot gases of the burning pellets. Usually a closed ceramic tube. And the thermocouple only controls the igniter initial operation. Nothing after that. If on thermostat control, the pellet stove will cycle from start-up, through heat, to shut down, based on room temp.

If a start cycle is unable to complete, the stove will never operate again until manually reset.

A second fan, controlled by a thermostat in the air heating chamber will run when a set temperature is reached and will stop below the set temp.

A worthwhile project, but don't put yours in a house with people. That would also require a CO warning detector.
