I have designed a PCB with an Arduino and 9 THT resistors to drive 3 RGB LEDs. The LEDs are not soldered to the PCB.
Then I was thinking about RGB gaming keyboard where more than 100 keys are illuminated. Soldering about 300 resistors for each keyboard might take a lot of time. Do modules with embedded resistors exist to deal with multiple RGB LEDs ?
Much more likely with that number of LEDs that a dedicated LED driver chip is being used, or individually addressable LEDs such as the WS2812. Either method substantially decreases or completely eliminates the resistors.
