mOne Open Source Step Sequencer Arduino based ...

Hi,

perhaps this would be very interesting.

the mOne (by endeavour)

It is a simple Step Sequencer. It has got a maximum of 8 tracks. Each track has got 8 patterns and each pattern has got a maximum of 16 steps.
You can assign a MIDI input and output channel to each track and choose a play and record mode for each track. There are 3 playmodes. The first means the track has got one Note only, good for drumcomputers, you just set the step active or not. The second can store a Note each Pattern, perhaps for chord sequences or so... (setting step will make note active or not, like first one) The third can store a note each step, feel free ... By the way it in each mode it stores also the Velocity and Gate of the Note. You can plug in a midi keyboard into the MIDI-In and simply record all the Notes (depends on Track's playmode) by setting the track into Punch-In mode ! Also, you could program the sequence without a midi keyboard using the device's rotary encs and the LCD. Therefore the first two of the tracks's playmode are made. You could also program each step by hand without the midi keyboard but i think in 8 patterns and 16 steps per pattern . . . this will take long

Best of all, it is Arduino based and the developer lets you modify his code or upload new code. so it is open source. The device's dimension is about 17 x 30 x 4 cm (d x w x h) and is a tabletop device. it has got a midi in, midi out, usb for serial connection (ftdi ft232rl , same as arduino) and an external power supply. It is made out of one piece aluminium and it's panel is made out of colored glass !! Like all those beautiful new macs...

so ... fully arduino ide compatible . . .

... it is about 65 % done ...
