Monster Motor Shield VNH2SP30: will it power the Ardino?

Hi

I need to have this working, the driver turns on when powered but looks like it is not powering the Arduino, I thought it generated 5V in the 5V pin. This is the board:

Have you measured the voltage on the 5V pin?

What makes you think that?

Of all of the pages that I have looked at, none mention that 5V is available from the motor shield and there is no 5V regulator to be found on the board. That leads me to believe that the 5V must come from the Arduino Uno 5V.
