MOOC: "Embedded Systems - Shape The World" (TI ARM Launchpad.)

Is anyone else taking the Utexas online class:
Embedded Systems - Shape The World
http://users.ece.utexas.edu/~valvano/edX/index.html
https://courses.edx.org/courses/UTAustinX/UT.6.01x/1T2014/info

I am. I have a Stellaris I got on one of the sales TI had. I may have some trouble when
they say "install Code Composer on your Windows machine," but I'll figure that out when it happens!

see you in class,

jimmy

I may have some trouble when they say "install Code Composer on your Windows machine,"

They're using Keil, and have some sort of automatic grader that works as a Keil add-on. Windows seems to be required (well, if you want to be graded), but I have it working fine under WXP/VBOX on my Mac. (The facebook page has been pretty active...)

That looks like a beginners course, I thought you were past that Bill..

Rob

Yeah, probably. I was hoping it would have some ARM details that I probably have missed, but perhaps not.
OTOH, it can be interesting to check out "what are they teaching kids these days, anyway?"
(Also, checking out EDX vs Coursea vs OpenEDX...)

Hey Rob,

Don't scare him out of the class! I might need someone to copy off of!

So far, it looks like this would be a pretty good course for Arduino folk who are interested in learning about "the next level of detail" in microcontroller design; though of course none of the labs will work. It seems like it would have been pretty easy to teach using Arduino hardware instead. But the ARM LaunchPad is cheaper (and you know how those Texans like to stick together!)

Pirate all the course material and convert it to Arduino/AVRs
