Hello, I have string of 7 LED's connected to an Arduino Duemilanove and I have a Sharp Infrared Proximity detector (2Y0A02 F 98). I cant figure out the best way to connect the LED's which is a 4 channel ribbon cable and the proxitmity detector to the board to make it work! I would like to have the proximity detector turn the LED's on for a certain time period if possible. Thank you!
Start off just wiring the LEDs up to the arduino, (don't forget the current limiting resistors) write a few sketches getting them to flash in various patterns.
Then get your distance sensor and write something that just displays te distance on the console. Then combine the two when you have a little experience of what you are doing.
I am using blnkm's and I have programmed each one so they have their own patterns ready to go. I'm just not sure how to plug the sensor and 4 channel ribbon cable with the blinkm's to the arduino board. I am not good at writing scripts. I'm practicing though! Thanks for your help.
Aww...yet another little bugger trying to run before they can crawl; so cute!

I suppose we all have to learn somehow, though...
which is exactly why i am asking for help, to learn more. not to be talked down too. anyone want to actually help me!? thanks!
