Motion sensing/color change

Hello all! New to the forums and new to the arduino scene and I have a question. I'm trying to find a way for the arduino board to detect motion from an object, change the static color for a second or two, and go back to the static color right after. It's for a game, so it needs to be repeatable, but that simple. Sorry if the explanation is too wordy, but any advice would be super helpful!

You need to put a lot more words into describing the "object" and its movement and how fast and how far it moves and how often it moves.

Welcome to the Arduino forum.

You must be very young and used to sending 100 characters at the most. We like a bit more information, so we can help you better.

What is the object? And is the Arduino inside or attached to the object?

How do you think the Arduino should detect the object and whether it is moving? Does not need to be specific. Guess if you do not know.

What do you mean by change the static color?

Read the "How to post ...". It is at the beginning of each sub forum and helps to get good answers.

Ok, so basically it's the cornhole game. I want to put an LED ring inside/below the ring and use a sensor under the hole to detect when a bag is tossed in. So the LED would be red as static, change to white when the bag is picked up be the sensor, and change back to red a couple of seconds later. Then just make it repeatable.

Did not know that one.

Looks like a light barrier would be a good choice. They have been used forever and are reliable.
