Motor activation by atmospheric pressure

Greetings,

I have an atmospheric science instrument that will be launched on a weather balloon. I want to use an arduino to turn on a motor on the instrument (small DC motor) when the balloon gets to a particular atmospheric pressure, then turn off the motor at a different pressure level.

I have a pressure sensor up and running on my arduino (UNO), but I haven't been able to get a transistor or relay to operate the motor correctly. (ie. turn it on and off based on air pressure criteria). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

For informed help, please read and follow the instructions in "How to use this forum". Post your code, with code tags, and include voltage and stall current details for the motor.

have you established that the pressure switch actually operates the relay. If it doesn't then your motor will never run.
