hope you can help me regarding my (maybe?^^) small problem,
what parts i need to build a arduino controlled device what are controlling 230V/16A (max) voltage due a potentiometer time delayed.
so what i want to do:
depending on the poti. position the output voltage should be interrupted/controlled, so on min position the voltage is available every 3 seconds for 2 seconds, on max position the voltage is available every 30 seconds for 2 seconds.
the scetch is not really the problem, i think thats the easy part.
Can you help me choosing the electronical parts?
and yes i now that this voltage is not for experimental, on my tests i will use low power/usb-power. (5V)
two things addional:
i have only 230V available on the machine
there is not many space, it should be small
Assuming the 230v is AC, I suggest using a 230v AC 16A or greater solid state relay. For example, you can find type SSR-25DA on ebay, which is good for up to 25A, if you don't mind waiting for it to be shipped from Hong Kong. Or visit one of the main component distribution sites (Digikey, Farnell/Newark, RS etc.) and browse their range of SSRs.
I suggest you either buy a SSR with a built-in LED, or connect a led and series resistor in parallel with the SSR control input. You can use that for testing, with the load side of the SSR disconnected. You can't test the load side of the SSR with low voltage DC, you need at least about 24v and it has to be AC.
Use a 9v wall wart, or buy a small 9v unregulated or 5v regulated power supply from one of the component distributors, or make your own using a transformer/rectifier/capacitor.
