Motor controller for 4 motors

Hello,
I am a beginner in arduino programming and was trying to control 4 DC motors using L293D
shield but since it is ancient, I keep getting voltage drop across the motors.
Is there a good replacement that provides a speed and direction control for all 4 DC motors using one arduino board?
Thank you in advance.

Motors specification:
Name: 37GB-520
Rated Voltage: 12V
Rated current: 360mA
Rated Torque: 1 Kgfcm
Original speed: 11000 RPM

Look at Pololu, they seem to have some dual driver boards using more modern TI motor drivers.
