Motor shield broken?

How do we test if our motor shield is broken? I dont know what to do. Our sensors are not responding.

?? model Number ??

Attach a motor and try to control it.

Do you have a separate power supply for the driver shield? The Arduino voltage regulator does not normally allow to drive a motor, so that the motor won't do anything without an additional motor power source connected.

Hi,
We need to see your code.
We need copy of your circuit, in CAD or a picture of a hand drawn circuit in jpg, png?
We need link to the spec/data of the motor shield.
We need to know the model of your Arduino.

Please read the first post in any forum entitled how to use this forum.
http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,148850.0.html then look down to item #7 about how to post your code.
It will be formatted in a scrolling window that makes it easier to read.

Have you written a piece of code JUST to drive your motors?

Please read back your first post and see how little info it gave us.
Tell us in point form

  1. What you are trying to do?
  2. Did your code work before you thought it was broken.
  3. What did you do immediately before it "broke"

Thanks.. Tom..
