Motor Shield Problem

I bought a motor shield(photo below), but its not spinning the wheels enough to make the rover go foward by it self.

I'm using the arduino board to power the Motor Shield.

This is the chassis that i'm using:Magician Chassis - ROB-12866 - SparkFun Electronics

Hi willilucas,
What are you using for power. it needs to be 4 x AA at least, the L298/293 will lose you about 2v on the output transistors.

Do not power it from the arduino, your motors will need more then it can cope with. Be sure to common supply Gnds

I'm using the arduino board to power the Motor Shield.

This is you problem it will not work, get yourself some good quality Nimh AA batteries, rated at 2700mA at least..

See my bots at: www.melsaunders.co.uk under Electronics.

Hope it helps.

Regards

Mel.
