motor shield r3 output in series

dear all,

i'm using the arduino motor shield r3 in order to controll a 24v DC motor ( as I can understand from the motor shield datasheet ( is not allowed to control more than 18V motor.

Is it possible to connect in series the 2 output of the shield (12v+12v) to obtain 24v?

No because both shields need a common ground for the logic signals.

Even if that were true it would be problematical to say the least since these are H-bridges and output polarity reverses - separate floating power supplies into the shields would be needed - all seems like a can of worms.

The absolute maximum is quoted as 18V for one of the shields: a different shield/controller is going to be the answer for 24V operation.
