MotorBike data logger

Hello to all,

I have started recently a new project, it's a Datalogger for motorbikes.
I want to log several values (temp, humidity, 10dof, gps and ODBII) and they will be saved on a SD card.
Most par of the components are already chosen and i'm using an arduino duemilnova for the soft. And later i would like to add an LCD screen for display.

What i wanted to know was if there was something special i should watch out for in this project?
I'm using eagle cad to design the circuit.

Thank you!

The idea would be something more or less like this : JanSpace.com is for sale | HugeDomains or http://www.speedangle.com/

Things to watch out for:

  • Temperature
  • Humidity and dirt
  • Vibration
  • Power Quality, voltage, voltage drops, interference etc

Im using one of these to provide power to my S4 while riding (voltage regulator in IP68 housing). You can use them for uploading new firmware and downloading data on your device.

Thanks, I had not thought about the vibration...
I guess a good housing with some choc/vibration absorption should be enough.

The power supply will be taken directly from the motorbike, and will go trough a "cleaning" circuit for the 5v and 3.3 V i need.

Also pay attention to that you are interfacing with the bikes existing system, there might be (or be not) issues there
