Hi, I've disassembled my old Motorola Razr V3 because I wasn't going to use it any more and I'm wondering if I can reuse it's parts for Arduino projects.
One of the interesting parts might be the TFT LCD display, but I wasn't able to find any information on this display.
Has anybody successfully used this or any other part of the Razr, like the cameras or the Micro SD or the GSM part?
You're opening up a whole new can of worms.
Now everyone is going pull all their old cell phones out of storage and we'll be busy for the next 3 years....
Yeah, thank you for that.
By the way, loads of Nokia's (different types) were ritually slaughtered because of their displays.
Best use of Nokia's ever.
Does that mean I shouldn't expect a reply? I believe there's someone out there who knows that LCD model out there and from that we can get to its communication protocol: from there to writing a library might be a huge gap, but I believe the Razr was a quite diffused model.
If you believe I should give up my hopes then I might still be able to use the device through it's micro usb and cannibalize mic and speakers....
It doesn't mean that, as far as i'm concerned.
Best bet would be to try get a hold on some service manual for that Razr.
I'd expect it to mention the type of screen and perhaps it's controller chip and some wiring info.
Based on that information you can go look for libraries or other ways to control it.

That's exactly what I hope somebody will post over here because, so far, all I found on the Internet searching by "Motorola Razr LCD" are sellers of such items with nothing more than a part number, a bit of info I've already gathered myself but providing no joy.
I hope somebody bumps into this thread and post a link or some useful info...
Here the two displays and the few marks I've found on them.
The pcb where the two displays are attached is marked as 8471537B01 Rev 0 and it's the top part of the flipping RAZR V3x.
I wasn't able to identify the connectors and I don't see any recognizable driver or IC on the pcb, what I see are resistors, capacitors and maybe a voltage regulator.
On that same pcb are hosted the front and rear cameras and the led flashlight.
There are three zones on the pcb covered in metal: I will have to somehow break the pcb to get access below those sections.
