I need help choosing some parts for a project that simply lowers an arm 1/8" and then turns it 1/2 revolution. I want to use one motor to turn a gear that does the lowering, and a second motor to spin a shaft 1/2 revolution in both directions. All of this needs to be controlled via wireless. I'm trying to shop for parts, but there's way too much for me to look through...anyone?
Since you don't specify size and weight I will assume the 'arm' is small and light.
A hobby servo can rotate 180 degrees. Another servo can lower the arm. Controlling them wirelessly can be done with a pair of Arduinos and a $5 OOK/ASK Transmitter/Receiver pair (use the RadioHead library).
Yes, it's small and very light abs plastic, although there will be a small amount of resistance.
