Hello,
I just bought an OMRON G2R-14 5 VDC relay expecting that it would nicely slip into my prototyping breadboard. But the pins don't line up!!!
I've looked at other relays (eg. frs10c), and that seems to be the case with these too.
How should I go about wiring and testing my circuit?
Why is this component designed so as to NOT fit into a prototyping board?
Thanks in advance!

Because it is a metric part with pin spacings in half-millimeter increments.
The prototype board has a 1/10th inch spacing.

Get the soldering iron out and run leads between it the relay and your experimenter board.
