Mounting a 5 VDC relay on a breadboard

Hello,

I just bought an OMRON G2R-14 5 VDC relay expecting that it would nicely slip into my prototyping breadboard. But the pins don't line up!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I've looked at other relays (eg. frs10c), and that seems to be the case with these too.

How should I go about wiring and testing my circuit?

Why is this component designed so as to NOT fit into a prototyping board?

Thanks in advance!

Ron

Because it is a metric part with pin spacings in half-millimeter increments.

The prototype board has a 1/10th inch spacing.

Get the soldering iron out and run leads between it the relay and your experimenter board.
