Mounting the Freetronics ProtoShield Basic

Hello friends!

I did a bit of shopping today - got myself a soldering iron, stand, solder, wire, stripper, etc.

One thing I picked up was this:

Now, I'm not entirely sure how to mount this on my Uno compatible Freetronics Eleven. I'd like to solder a couple of LEDs and a pushbutton onto one and have it sit on top of the eleven. I don't want to stack anything on top.

I was thinking at the most basic I could solder in some 2.54mm pins individually. That would be pretty simple.

Thoughts?

I would suggest that you should get a bunch of straight header pins and solder them to the connector sides. Then you can build your circuit in the middle of the prototype board. With just a few pins you may find that the board does not sit on the Arduino well enough (too loose).
